Put a little spring in your step!


We’ve had a long, cold winter, but spring is finally upon us! To help you get out of the winter blues, here is a list of some great events coming up.

First Thursdays on Main: The first Thursday of every month, the Columbia Museum of Art hosts events along with local shops on Main Street.

Soda City Market: Open year round every Saturday morning from 9am – 1pm! Check out their site for a list of different vendors.

Vista After 5: Features local music every Thursday night starting April 5 – May 10 in the Tin Roof/Music Farm parking lot. Free entry with a bar for those 21 and over.

Rhythm of the River: Free outdoor concert every Saturday night starting April 14 – May 26 at the West Columbia Riverwalk Ampitheater. Free entry with food trucks and a bar for those 21 and over.

Back to the Roots Festival: City Roots is celebrating their 10th Growing Season! They will have fun hands-on farm learning experiences with great music, food, and drinks. Saturday April 28, $15 a ticket.

Taste of Africa: “The Annual Taste of Africa Festival (TOAF) has as its mission to expose and showcase to the midlands of South Carolina the culture of the African Community here in South Carolina through the continents diverse people, art, food, fashion, and music, in a fun-filled family-friendly environment.” Saturday, April 28, $7 a ticket

Spring in Sesqui 5K: The race will be held the Sesquicentennial State Park and starts at 10 AM on Saturday April 28, 2018. $30 registration fee.

See Spot Run 5K: “See Spot Run is a family and pet-friendly run/walk through the scenic downtown Earlewood Park neighborhood. Funds raised benefit the Humane Society’s low-cost Spay/Neuter program. Bring your best friend and join us! $25 entry fee also provides a Humane Society T-Shirt.” The race is Saturday, April 28.

Brookland Brunch: “Soda City and West Columbia’s new Brookland development have partnered to bring you our city’s first and only riverside brunch, every Sunday from 10AM-2PM at the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater.”

Greater Columbia Record Fair: “The largest local market to find vinyl. Vendors from across the Southeast bring everything from well-loved classics to rare and highly collectible finds. Along with record sifting, fairgoers can grab food and drinks provided by The WhigThe War Mouth, and The Belgium Waffle truck, plus DJ sets by The Greater Columbia Society for the Preservation of Soul.Sunday, April 29 from noon – 5pm. Free event.

Cinco de Mayo Street Fest: “The Language Buzz hosts its 3rd Annual Cinco de Mayo Street Fest from 11am until 3pm. This family friendly event features a Mariachi band, salsa lessons, authentic street food, games, face painting, door prizes and more! All proceeds benefit The Language Buzz Foundation, a non-profit working to create opportunities for all children to become multi-lingual and globally aware.” Saturday, May 5 from 11am – 3pm. Free event.
